Terms of service

Plain terms, in the order they are likely to matter to you.

Last updated: 2 September 2026

The agreement

These terms apply between Accto and the business using the service. By creating an account you accept them on behalf of that business.

If any part of them is unclear, ask before you rely on it. We would rather explain a clause than argue about it later.

Your account

You are responsible for who you give access to and for what they do with it. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and remove people who no longer work with you.

You must be entitled to run the business you register, and the information you give us about it must be accurate.

Your records belong to you

Everything you enter — your products, customers, invoices, and accounts — remains yours. We hold it in order to provide the service and for no other purpose.

You can export your records at any time, on any plan. If you close your account, you can take them with you.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use the contents of your books to sell anything to you or to anyone else.

What we provide

We provide the service as described on this site and aim to keep it available continuously. We do not promise it will never be interrupted.

Accto is a tool for recording your business. It is not accounting advice, tax advice, or legal advice, and it does not replace your accountant.

You remain responsible for the accuracy of what you record and for meeting your own tax and reporting obligations.

Payment

Paid plans are billed in advance for the period you choose. Prices are shown before you commit.

We may change prices. If we do, we will give at least thirty days’ notice before it affects a renewal, and existing customers keep their current price for one further period.

If a payment is missed, the features above your plan stop. Your records are not deleted for non-payment.

Your storefront

If you publish an online shop, you are the seller. You are responsible for what you list, what you charge, how you deliver, and how you handle returns and complaints from your customers.

You must not use the service to sell anything you are not lawfully permitted to sell.

Ending it

You can close your account at any time. Export what you need first.

We may suspend an account that is being used unlawfully, that endangers the service for others, or that has not been paid for after due notice.

Limits

To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced before they take effect.
